Belonging. Wonder. Joyful Discovery.
These are our core values.
Our Partners
Science& Temple University
Our naming, branding, website, and the Belonging in Science survey were all done in partnership with an incredible team from the Graphic and Interactive Design Master of Fine Arts program in the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University.
This team is: Ha Tran, MeiLi Carling, Mike Ray, and Nghi To. Science& is eternally grateful to have been their community partner, and we can’t wait to see what they do next!
Notably, MeiLi Carling extended this partnership by collaborating on the development and delivery of our flagship workshop, “Graphic Design for Scientists.”

Francesca Tuazon
FOUNDER & CEO
Francesca Tuazon, Ph.D. founded Science& in 2023 on the idea that the next breakthroughs in STEM will come from diverse, creative, and authentic voices.
During her graduate research, Francesca both saw (and experienced) a gap in immediate and broadly applicable support for scientists from historically excluded groups. At the same time, she was continually struck by the similarities between science and art. A painter since childhood and avid art history enthusiast, she understands the power of creative expression…and saw its potential as a new approach to DEI in STEM.
Francesca combined her experience as a community activist, transformational leader, and bold problem-solver to build a framework of practical skills from the visual, written, and performance arts. Her goal is simple: empower every scientist to express their unique voice.
